What you'd do

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAS JRB FT WORTH.

Major duties

You will prepare and evaluate installation energy metrics and communicates and explains energy data and metrics to a variety of audiences. You will oversee and manage audits, energy surveys, feasibility studies, and detailed energy studies. You will be accountable for providing effective and efficient leadership of the Installation Energy Program, identifying program requirements, managing resources, and promoting energy awareness. You will support the Installation Commanding Officer and Public Works Officer in complying with energy and water mandates and achieving installation specific energy reduction goals. You will ensure development and execution of a comprehensive energy program overseeing complex engineering solutions to energy conservation, renewable energy and energy security requirements.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and monitoring large-scale utility construction, maintenance projects, and renewable energy upgrades; 2) Evaluating facility energy use to identify savings opportunities, auditing, and utilizing energy modeling software; 3) Developing and updating Installation Energy Plans (IEP) to meet energy independence goals, such as those in DoD policy; 4) Implementing strategies for process improvement and equipment efficiency, water to meet resilience goals; 5) Ensuring site operations meet federal energy laws, executive orders, and Navy environmental policies.
