Administrative Officer
What you'd do
This position is located in the Business Office of the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.
Major duties
Provides high-level administrative support to the Business Office for the efficient functioning of all associated programs and services; Develops and implements program policies and procedures; Administers internal reviews and quality and productivity initiatives for the service; Establishes a service report card to monitor and analyze trends, and to implement performance improvement plans for assigned performance metrics; Collects, analyzes, and displays information/data in a format ready for decision making; Conducts projects and coordinates activities assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief; Initiates projects pertaining to administrative and technical areas of all health care programs or medical center activities; Managing projects with a significant impact on other services at the medical center and/or the medical center as a whole; Serves as a Human Resources advisor for the service; Performs related duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized.
What you need to qualify
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One year specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: maintaining and updating databases and shared computer drives; creating reports, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and submitting requests/work orders using a personal computer and office automation programs (such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.); preparing and submitting employee timecards; preparing and submitting requests for recruitment, promotion, and reassignment; managing and balancing financial reports, fund control points, and purchase orders. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. in a related field from an accredited institution that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Transcripts required. ~OR~ An equivalent combination of specialized experience and progressively higher level graduate education, as described, that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of the position.
