About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital, at Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. -A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. -Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. -Student Loan repayment may be authorized. -Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Major duties

Analyzes problems and present recommendations on how best to utilize resources and how to resolve issues. Ensures all areas of hospital reimbursements are billed, collected, transferred and deposited for hospital services. Compiles statistical information and reports on all reported and verified cases of fraud. Accomplishes work processes by using numerous manual and automation systems and software programs. Establishes and maintains a number of different subsidiary accounts to provide control and financial accountability in various financial systems. Uses personal computer to maintain account data in automated spreadsheets.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated/documented experience in 1) Reviewing and auditing payments/denials for proper reimbursements; 2) Performing internal audits on inpatient and outpatient claims to ensure proper billing and accounting codes are being used; and 3) Utilization of office automation software programs to maintain account data and to enter and extract accounts data reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
