What you'd do

This position is located with the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Acadia National Park, with a duty station of Bar Harbor, ME. Anticipated Entry on Duty: July 2026 with a NTE of January 2027.

Major duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Must be efficient at cleaning restrooms for the public within our 2 campgrounds. Which is includes proper dilution ratios for chemicals Must be able to use leaf blowers, hand tools, lawn mowers. Must be able to operate ride on lawn mowers and UTV's.

What you need to qualify

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement - 07/17/2026 - unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in one of the following job-related factors: I have worked as a Laborer cleaning sinks, toilets, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning windows. I have unclogged sinks, toilets, and drains. I have replaced fuses and light bulbs, and checked breakers. I removed trees, brush and limbs. I performed grounds maintenance work including mowing, weed eating, and placement of landscaping timbers. I performed these duties in campgrounds, picnic areas, visitor centers, or other park facilities and grounds. I assisted journeyman level employees in completing maintenance projects which included painting and carpentry work. -or- I have worked as a laborer cleaning sinks, toilets, sweeping and mopping floors, replacing fuses and light bulbs, mowing, and weed eating, replacing tables, grills and tent pads. -or- I have performed laborer tasks such as cleaning restrooms, unclogging sinks and toilets, replacing fuses and light bulbs, mowing and weed whacking. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies. Federal employees seeking CTAP/ICTAP eligibility must submit proof that they meet the requirements of 5 CFR 330.605(2) for CTAP and 5 CFR 330.704 for ICTAP. This includes a copy of the agency notice, a copy of their most recent Performance Rating, and a copy of their most recent SF-50 noting current position, grade level, and duty location.
