What you'd do

This position is in Region 10, Mission Support Division, Human Resources Branch. About Region 10: Region 10. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).

Major duties

You will: Advise leadership and managers on human capital strategy and workforce planning to align talent with mission needs, close skill gaps, ensure compliant practices, and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Liaise between management and the Talent Acquisition Division to enhance timeliness, quality, and communication, ensure accurate and compliant reporting, and support data-driven decision-making. Research and analyze complex HR issues and provide policy guidance, interpretations, reports, and briefings to management and stakeholders to resolve problems, ensure compliant and consistent implementation, and inform sound decisions. Lead and recommend HR service improvements to modernize and standardize HR operations, improve efficiency and customer experience, and align with broader organizational priorities. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position.

What you need to qualify

NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as interpreting and applying human resources (HR) policies and procedures related to workforce planning, human capital management, staffing, performance management, recognition management, and/or training. You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Human Capital Management * Leadership Workforce Planning Attention to Detail HR Information Systems * Written Communication * Technical Knowledge (Related to Position) Partnering *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
