What you'd do

You will serve as an ENGINEER/ SCIENTIST in the Global Deterrence & Defense Department (GX), Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM), Component Engineering Branch (GXMP) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $163,514).

Major duties

You will serve as the Passive Technologies Component Technologist, responsible for the life cycle of strategic electronic components supporting multiple customers. You will work with the Technologist Teams, Test and Evaluation Teams, Program Office, Prime Contractors, Designers, and other agencies. You will support the efforts in passive microelectronics in manufacturing processes including design and construction as well as design applications and limitations. You will maintain professional relationships with manufacturers and be aware of all aspects of the commercial environment. You will participate in industry, government, and consensus setting organizations to improve government positions in test and evaluation guidance.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional scientist or engineer managing the full lifecycle of strategic electronic components to mitigate risk and resolve component challenges in support of an organization.
