MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER

Major duties
You will lead a civilian team, relays supervisor instructions, matches tasks to skills, and sets the pace by working with other journeymen. Instructs on deadlines/policies while checking ongoing and finished work. You will uses journey-level skills in 2+ trades (electrician, AC, heating, industrial, welding, sheet metal, electronics). Performs basic maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, machining, masonry, or painting. You will perform Journey-level maintenance mechanic performing new installations, maintenance, and repairs on building structures, utilities, facilities, and components. You will perform maintenance work in other trades not requiring journey level skills in trades such as, Carpentry, Plumbing, Machining, Masonry, or Painting.
What you need to qualify
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Demonstrate mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic principles and a working knowledge of electronics to repair and maintain power systems and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment; 2). Motivating and lead other workers in accomplishing the work of the unit. 3) Ability to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification and repair of systems 4) 3. Interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the work and skill to use trade formulas to calculate common properties.
