What you'd do

This position is located at Fort Stewart Outdoor Recreation, Fort Stewart, GA. This is a Regular Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours and eligible for benefits. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Major duties

Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance. Must be able to support the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation material and facilities. Works in executing recreation events, programs and services. Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decoration, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English). Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
