THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1178P01/D0389000 and is part of the CO JFHQ G4, National Guard.

Major duties

GS-09 D1178P01: The purpose of this position is to function as the logistics manager of the organization and to serve as the organizational Property Book Officer (PBO) responsible for routine accomplishment and oversight of property accountability functions. Develops, implements and evaluates the logistics and property accountability policies for the organization. Is the primary advisor for the command in the area of logistics and property book operations. Responsible for the property book operations of the organization in the areas of inventory management, storage management, equipment coordination and supply management. Maintains property book accountability utilizing an automated system and/or related computer programs to account for property. Ensures compliance with the command supply discipline program (CSDP), and other directed command inspection programs. Coordinates with the USPFO, state level Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) and subordinate units of the organization on the lateral transfer and/or turn in of excess property. Establishes quality procedures and oversees the edit of all source documentation. Provides guidance and funds management for all decentralized logistics funds. May be required to represent the National Guard and the unit Commander in the community. Supervises subordinates performing supply work. Performs other duties as assigned. GS-11 D0389000: The purpose of the position is to administer the logistical activities of the Division. Plans and coordinates all matters pertaining to supply, organizational maintenance, troop movements, logistic readiness, services, and miscellaneous logistic support of the command and its subordinate elements. Oversees, coordinates, and administers the logistic functions of the subordinate elements by developing and issuing policy guidance on logistic matters including receipt, storage, issue, turn-in, in-storage maintenance of supplies, property accountability, supply economy, supply discipline, troop movements and billeting for training exercises, etc. Monitors equipment status, determines maintenance requirements, and recommends maintenance priorities. Develops budget estimates for logistic areas such as troop movement, rations, supply, maintenance, etc. Serves as member of Division Program Budgeting Activity Committee (PBAC). Performs other duties as assigned.

Military Grades: E-4 thru E-8 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. For GS-09 you must have at least 12 months of experience in each of the following: - Experience which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities). - Experience planning and organizing work assignments. For GS-11 you must have at least 12 months of experience in each of the following: - Experience which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. - Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. - Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. - Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Preferred experience but not mandatory: - Experience in the following systems Decision Support Tool (DST), GFEBS, and Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
