This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Major duties
Responsible for operations branch. Oversee training program. Develop the fire safety program. Direct emergency scene operations. Directs subordinates.
What you need to qualify
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the eperience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) organizing training activities with other offices/staff, surrounding communities and/or military installations; (2) administering fire prevention, protection, hazardous material response programs; (3) analyzing historical data to ensure there is adequate equipment and personnel available; and (4) assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense, International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) equivalent certifications: Fire Officer II Fire Instructor I Fire Inspector I Airport Firefighter Hazardous Materials Technician Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification issued by the State of Georgia or National Registry. (You MUST submit a copy of your certification.) You MUST submit a copy of the above certifications certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) (AND Georgia or National Registry EMT Certification Card indicating a future expiration). If your application package does not contain proof of having these certificates, your application will be marked as incomplete, and you WILL NOT receive consideration for this position.
