Major duties

You will be responsible for coordinating and administering site air quality compliance and permitting programs. You will serve as point of contact for environmental regulatory visits and inspections of assigned areas of responsibility. You will support response to and oversight of spill response team actions. You will recommend and implement corrective actions for air quality and permit deviations. You will support the air compliance program as part of the Environmental Division within the Public Works Department located at Naval Air Station Fallon. You may support other media programs at the installation. You will keep informed of new/proposed developments in air quality regulations and Navy compliance policies.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Environmental compliance media management; 2) Knowledge of environmental protection laws, regulations, licensing/permit requirements, and precedent decisions governing environmental operations; 3) Solving problems using established policies. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Administrative and Management Positions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
