About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation located on Peterson Space Force Base/ Space Base Delta 1. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and maintain a favorable Tier 1 background investigation.
Major duties
Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, coordinates, and conducts day-to-day operations for the Information, Ticket, & Travel (ITT) program at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), providing comprehensive travel counseling and administrative support to a high volume of local and transient military and civilian customers. Serves as a primary customer service representative, independently delivering professional travel counseling by researching, developing, and finalizing detailed itineraries that include air travel, cruises, rental cars, lodging, and recreational admissions using interactive, computer-based reservation software. Daily administrative and fiduciary responsibilities include operating front-desk cash registers for multiple activities, including ITT, Outdoor Recreation (ODR), and Arts & Crafts (A&C)-processing customer payments and reservations, and completing daily cashier reports for supervisory audit. Maintains strict accountability over program assets by conducting monthly ticket inventory audits and reconciling monthly Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Purchase Card statements for submission to leadership. Is responsible for researching and procuring promotional tickets for sporting events and amusement parks, assisting with the preparation of daily and monthly operational reports detailing sales and net profit, collaborating with FSS Marketing to distribute publicity materials, and collecting customer feedback to analyze service trends. Routine duties are executed with a high degree of independence, while unique, complex, or non-standard situations are proactively elevated to the supervisor. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible experience in the travel industry is required, which demonstrates a practical knowledge of tour and travel industry rules, regulations, and procedures. Knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures, and the ability to plan and organize activities. Experience in clerical or office work that includes cash handling, preparing reports, and maintaining accountability of records or inventory. Knowledge of basic computer operations and proficiency in using Windows-based operating systems and office automation software. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate good telephone etiquette. Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with inquiries (NACI).
