This job opportunity is for an DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, position description T5867000, within the NJ 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 5. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the focal point for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy and wing-level long-range strategic plans.

Major duties

As an DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, GS-1801-12, you will: Plan, organize, resource, and direct the execution of a wide range of complex inspection activities for the wing Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP). Apply an extensive knowledge of installation operations and DoD, DAF, and G-MAJCOM guidance to direct complex strategic planning and exercise efforts. Oversee and manage the WIT conducting inspection and exercise activities. Responsible for organizing and analyzing data from inspections and exercises across the DoD with the goal of identifying and communicating trends. Serve as a qualified complaint resolution representative providing advisory services to individuals, other staff offices, managers, supervisors, and employees concerning the IG program and processes.

What you need to qualify

General Experience: Experience or knowledge in the following: Collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately Utilizing applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures Skilled interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening Ability to write reports and presentations Ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects Skilled in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws Specialized Experience: At least 36 months of experience and training in the following: Inspector General Program principles and practices related to federal civilian, military, and National Guard, operational, administrative and technical programs Conducting investigations and inspections to ensure compliance with agency policies, practices, and regulations. Providing policy, guidance, oversight, and directions for the inspection programs; complaints resolution; Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; strategic plans and programs; and the Commander's Inspection Program. Revising data collection methods or developing new approaches to analyze and evaluate data. Conducting productivity assessments or effectiveness and efficiency program operations
