Major duties
As a Senior Information Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for: Analyzing, planning, development, integration, oversight and operations/maintenance of compute and storage environments and the related server and database platforms built on those environments. Managing related daily operations, and disaster recovery (DR) operations, across all hosting environments. Leading all planning aspects (new solutions, solution configuration, operational processes, interoperability, DR) of the related technology solutions, services, and platforms, e.g., Virtual Machines (VMs), Microsoft (MS) Servers, Red Hat Linux Servers, MS Active Directory, MS SQL Database, and equivalent Azure services. Supporting the design, implementation, and operations of enterprise storage solutions, backup solutions, and application hosting environments, e.g., Dell VxRail, Commvault; VMware, Azure cloud.
What you need to qualify
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GG-13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure concepts, architectures and solutions needed to effectively design, develop, implement, operate and maintain agency systems in the areas of compute/storage, virtualization, operating systems, database, disaster recovery, cloud environments, remote access solutions, network management tools, capacity analysis, network architecture, and IT security. Qualifications desired in an ideal candidate should be addressed in your resume. Demonstrated Ability to Communicate Complex Technical Information Clearly and Effectively. Demonstrated Ability to Engage Effectively with Stakeholders and Guide Contractors.
