What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to either the Upper Deck Restaurant at the Marina and/or Rickenbacker's Eatery. Physical Effort: Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. May be required to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
Major duties
Ensures preparation or food and beverage items using measured and standard recipes. Observes and ensure portion control procedures when preparing menu items. Serves food in a snack bar style. Demonstrates proper work methods and checks work while in progress. Ensures equipment is set up, clean and maintained for daily operations. Sells posted menu items, daily specials and limited variety of prepared food and beverages. Ensures Point of System (POS) is utilized and maintained to support daily operation. Ensures daily deposit is counted and correct each day of operation. Maintain the facility in a clean, safe, and orderly manner on a daily basis. Ensures preparation for the next days business is conducted at the end of each of day. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance as required. Stores food and beverages in accordance with standard procedures. Performs or assists with stocking and putting away monthly inventories. Ensure display cooler are restocked. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks. Have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Experience in the operation of a cash register, direct handling of cash items, and cash accountability is desirable. Have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Possess skill in dealing with the public. Be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
