What you'd do

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit & appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs.

Major duties

Edit material lists for production order availability. Generate status reports from automated database systems. Route required materials to the designated drop-off locations. Analyze stock catalogs for critical end items. Secure transport cargo for safe vehicle transit.

What you need to qualify

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter (Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks which includes receiving basic materials, assembling standard kits, verifying part numbers against routing documents, using automated systems to locate parts, and operate motor vehicles to drop off supplies. I can operate vehicles under 26,000 pounds. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. The employee stands, stoops, bends and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 40 pounds, and at times may handle items weighing over 40 pounds with assistance. Subject position regularly exposed to possible injury associated with handling equipment. Work is usually performed indoors in well-lighted and ventilated holding areas or shop areas. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, dust, fumes, and vibrations. May be required to wear protective clothing such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses, or gloves.
