About the Position: Serves as technical and procedural support to the Supervisor and staff of the Administrative Section, and Project personnel at a major multi-purpose hydroelectric plant project that also includes various natural resource, recreation, fish facilities, and appurtenant features covering several locations.

Major duties

Serves as technical and procedural support at a major multi-purpose hydroelectric plant project that also includes various natural resource, recreation, fish facilities, and appurtenant features covering several locations. Utilize knowledge of the Project's programs and operations, rules and processes to perform specialized duties in assigned functional and program areas involving a wide variety of problems and situations. Develop charts, graphs, and presentation material for reports and briefings. Utilize effective communication skills to establish rapport and credibility with Project personnel, supervisors, section staff, and others contacts.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Identifying and resolving administrative problems and recommending improvements in administrative practices; 2) Applying knowledge of travel regulations such as Joint Travel Regulations to process travel orders and vouchers; and 3) Utilizing office automation hardware and various word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database software to create briefings, charts, graphs, and documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with identifying and resolving administrative problems and recommending improvements in administrative practices; 2) Responding to correspondence, visitors, and phone calls; and 3) Utilizing office automation hardware and various word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database software to create briefings, charts, graphs, and documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Responding to correspondence, visitors, or phone calls; and 2) Utilizing Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel to complete assignments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
