SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN)
What you'd do
THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), Position Description Number D1578P01 and is part of the ND G6, National Guard.
Major duties
This position serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer with responsibility for serving as the focal point for the State National Guard IT requirements and priorities, including the cybersecurity and privacy programs, enterprise architecture, software application and development, capital planning and investment, infrastructure, and telecommunications support. Manages IT activities to ensure the appropriateness of system design, development, deployment, and security functions associated with the infrastructure and support systems, IT network and the inventory of software and hardware. Defines goals, objectives, plans, and performance measures for the IT services that are provided from the Department of Defense, Departments of the Army and Air Force, National Guard Bureau and other guidance while interpreting the guidance to ensure the State's IT activities are aligned with and support these objectives and goals. Reviews major IT investments for consistency with strategies, plans, and enterprise architectures through the MDEP Program Manager and the vision for the state. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the state G-6. Monitors, reviews and analyzes program implementations. Represents the command in dealing with state, local, tribal communities and federal government agencies.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.
