What you'd do

This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 2, Band C. (GS 13 equivalent).

Major duties

Conducts and/or reviews scientific processes, performs evaluations, exposure and/or other risk assessments. Identifies and assesses complex or precedent-setting issues that may have impact on procedures, policies, or required resources. Determines whether a scientific study or regulated facility conforms to applicable FDA laws and regulations. Analyzes the design and results of scientific experiments to determine whether data generated is accurate and valid. Applies appropriate precedence to the interpretation of chemistry-related data pertaining to HFP/CVM-regulated products to support decisions. Prepares and finalizes reports setting forth conclusions regarding chemistry-related studies. Considers scientific findings from multiple studies to provide comprehensive and consistent conclusions and recommendations.

What you need to qualify

In order to qualify for the Pharmacokineticist position which falls under the 0401 occupational Series, you must meet the following requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 07/14/2026: Basic Qualification Requirements: . Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, data science, computer science, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacometrics, pharmacy, toxicology, biotechnology, biopharmaceutics, or veterinary medicine. The degree must be from an accredited program or institution. NOTE: Applicants must submit all relevant transcripts that demonstrate you possess the required education to meet the Basic Qualifications. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED ABOVE, APPLICANTS MUST ALSO MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BAND C. 1. Have a bachelor's degree and also have four (4) years of comparable experience interpreting and evaluating pharmacokinetic studies examining drug absorption, distribution, bioavailability, bioaccumulation, biotransformation, and excretion (ADME) and reviewing scientific submissions (including sponsor submissions and draft regulatory documents) to assess the safety and effectiveness of new and marketed animal drugs, foods, and devices in support of approval, compliance, and enforcement activities. 2. Have a master's degree and also have three (3) years of comparable experience interpreting and evaluating pharmacokinetic studies examining drug absorption, distribution, bioavailability, bioaccumulation, biotransformation, and excretion (ADME) and reviewing scientific submissions (including sponsor submissions and draft regulatory documents) to assess the safety and effectiveness of new and marketed animal drugs, foods, and devices in support of approval, compliance, and enforcement activities. 3. Have a Doctorate and/or J.D. degree and also have one (1) years of comparable experience interpreting and evaluating pharmacokinetic studies examining drug absorption, distribution, bioavailability, bioaccumulation, biotransformation, and excretion (ADME) and reviewing scientific submissions (including sponsor submissions and draft regulatory documents) to assess the safety and effectiveness of new and marketed animal drugs, foods, and devices in support of approval, compliance, and enforcement activities. 4. Have a MD, DO, DDS, DPM, or DVM degree.
