What you'd do

You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support) in the Information Technolgy (IT) office of NAVAL CONSOLIDATED BRIG MIRAMAR.

Major duties

You will implement information systems cyber security tools and procedures to protect and restore information security systems and network services. You will complete information technology (IT) trouble-tickets or break-fix tasks to meet customer service support requirements. You will monitor information technology (IT) project activities to mitigate risk. You will discuss application specific or enclave wide operational issues with customers to assist with troubleshooting. You will conduct systems maintenance (e.g., upgrading, debugging) for continued system operability.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinates and executes security and information assurance policies, principles, practices and controls to ensure security requirements are identified and are in regulatory compliance; 2) Provides user accounts management; maintains systems passwords; provides assistance and coordinates access privileges for prisoners and staff network systems; 3) Installs, configures and maintains hardware devices supporting the organization's Administrative Systems (IS), networks and local operating systems and software; and 4) Performs tests, maintenance and technical analysis when required on network file servers, print servers, network cabling, workstation connections, network and standard printers, and the prisoner network. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
