About the Position: Serves as a Training Instructor (Computer/Network/Telecommunications) GS-1712-12 at Fort Bragg, NC for Joint Special Operations Command. Only resumes up to a total of two pages will be accepted.

Major duties

Instructs and maintains a formal program of instruction on advance special operations Computer Network/Telecommunications tactics, techniques, and procedures in a classroom or field setting. Independently researches, develops, maintains and updates materials for courses. Develops all course material to include new or modified study guides, visual aids, simulations (mock ups and models), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids and course outlines. Independently develops and updates lesson plans for courses in advanced technical systems. Develops and modifies short and long range lesson plans that are complementary to total course content. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of complete courses in advanced technical systems, as well as seminars and conferences.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in: Teaching or instructing courses related to Computer Network/Telecommunications tactics, techniques, and procedures in a formal classroom setting; and developing and/or adapting new or revised training materials for formal classroom training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
