What you'd do
About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Major duties
Provide day-to-day leadership, workload management, coaching, training coordination, and problem-solving support for the HR team while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Review personnel actions, monitors production systems, ensures regulatory compliance, and support managers across major HR programs (awards, performance, incentives, PDPP, SSR, VERA/VSIP, background checks, sponsorship, etc.). Conduct studies on staffing levels, workload, organizational structure, and efficiency; develop recommendations for reorganizations, manpower adjustments, and job description support. Serve as a key advisor to managers and employees on training programs, IDPs, compensation issues, special salary rates, incentives, and HR policy interpretation. Work closely with DHA CoE, EEO, SJA, and other entities to gather information, respond to inquiries, support appeals, manage FECA and labor-management activities, and ensure smooth HR operations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leadership & team development, preparing HR reports, processing personnel actions, advising managers on HR procedures and/or regulatory requirements and experience supporting programs related to awards, payroll setting for physicians, performance management, and/or incentives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
