About the Position: This position is located at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Major duties

Assess, analyze, and evaluate program effectiveness in achieving established goals and objectives. Serve as the principal advisor on the Credentialing and Privileging Program, providing guidance, evaluating provider competence, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Utilize various databases, software programs and automated data systems, including Joint Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System, Electronic Health Care Records Systems health care monitoring tools and/or applications. Identify opportunities for improvement, resolve problems, and evaluate the effectiveness of change in regard to competency information. Ensure Criminal History Background Checks in regard to Credentialing and Privileging are conducted on designated applicants. Create standardized forms used locally in the privileging program and provides a program overview report via inspection accreditation tools. Advise healthcare providers and leadership of medical staff by-laws, rules, regulations, and criteria required for requests for and delineation of clinical privileges for the provision of patient care. Review contracts and contract packages to ensure adherence to credentials requirements, eligibility criteria for the position and award of clinical privileges. Generate reports for evidence-based decisions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for a Health System Specialist (Credentials): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with a credentialing and privileging program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and utilizing various automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
