Visual Information Specialist (Social Media)
What you'd do
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBSA Randolph Marketing Office. This is a Regular Part-Time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs. per week. Employees appointed into a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Major duties
Must be able to work on their own as they develop, manage and execute the 502 FSS social media strategy. Manages messaging, sources, and develops visual imagery for posts in alignment with the FSS marketing strategy. Works with cross-functional flights/sections to inform, educate, and conduct announcements to the JBSA customer base regarding MWR facilities, programs, and events by using expert knowledge of marketing principles and research, to develop a marketing plan to reach a squadron/flight specific targeted audience. Develops and implements outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing brand visibility and effectively communicating information to targeted potential customers online to achieve overall revenue growth in the MWR fund. Builds and executes social media strategy through research, platform determination, targeted messaging, and audience identification. Develops and drives all social media efforts, including relevant content and engagement to reach appropriate audiences for activities/events and increase audience participation. Also develops and manages paid media ad strategy across Meta platforms. Regularly analyzes social media key performance indicators using analytics tools to ensure that marketing efforts comply with campaign strategy goals. Develops topics, themes, formats, and content that will engage audiences on social media and generate leads. Generates/writes, posts, edits, publishes, and shares daily content through social media channels (original text, images, video, HTML, etc.) to build meaningful connections and promote participation from members of the community. Establishes and optimizes posts within each platform to increase the visibility of the organization's social content. Moderates all user-generated content to ensure it remains compliant with USAF policies. Manages messaging, sourcing, and creates visual images for posts to ensure content is aligned with the FSS direct marketing strategy. Monitors topics, threads, and discussions of events, services, and branding on news, internet, and social media. Continuously identifies areas for improvement by capturing and analyzing data/metrics, insights and best practices and through testing/new initiatives. Authors scripts for videos used to promote events, programs, and facilities. Live streams to social media as needed for virtual events/during events. Uses OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) for live streaming. Collaborates with other non- appropriated fund activities to manage 502 FSS brand reputation and coordinate actions. Develops annual social media goals and executes as needed. Maintains accuracy and relevancy of all content. Monitors facility-owned social media to comply with regulations. Develops semi-annual training for activity managers to ensure they understand the purpose of social media. Serves as the in-house expert and resource for social media and measures/reports activity and brand presence in coordination with fellow marketing personnel. Implements best practices for optimization of social media platforms and outlets. Creates marketing campaigns via texting services to reach community via mobile messaging. Provides bi-weekly analytics to leadership to ensure they are kept current on the squadron social media data. Attends community and activity events/programs to increase social media followers. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications, new media, public relations or a related field is required. Progressive or educational experience in social/digital media-centric role, online brand marketing, or online communities and social networking in a professional capacity is also desired. Demonstrable experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms, social analytics tools knowledge, and a technical understanding of existing digital platforms, emerging technologies/trends, and integration strategies is required. Must have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (In Design, Premiere Pro, etc..) and other design software as needed (i.e. Canva). **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration.
