Supervisory General Engineer
What you'd do
You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer/SE Software Branch Head (BL25300), in the NAVAIRWARCENADLKE SE & ALRE Group; Support Equipment Dept; SE Engineering Integration Division.
Major duties
•You will supervise branch personnel and manage resources to accomplish required tasking. •You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mission alignment. •You will provide oversight for software development efforts in the branch (e.g. CASS Common Development Environment for Test (CDET) and Engine Test Instrumentation Replacement System (ETIRS)). •You will ensure personnel are properly trained and successfully executing assigned tasking on time while delivering technically sound products. •You will identify staffing requirements to support mission demand and lead the effort to find new personnel to fill vacancies (e.g. lateral reassignments, merit promotions, CSS, etc.). •You will perform all supervisory administrative functions including but not limited to approval of time and attendance, travel, training, performance evaluations, corrective action, etc. •You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and recommend official performance ratings. •You will ensure employees have and use the required processes, tools, and procedures to execute their tasks effectively. •You will provide leadership support of Knowledge Management activities through participation in communities of interest/practice to promulgate and advance technical and business development of the branch, division, department, and SE domain.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NM-03 (GS-9-12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Adjusting workload and providing guidance to branch personnel to ensure all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives; Ensuring that branch personnel are trained, developed, and mentored to grow and excel in the designated career field; Working and collaborating with Integrated Program Team Leaders (IPTL) to ensure resource and skill set demand required for mission execution are met effectively; Identifying staffing requirements, overseeing journeyman level hiring, and developing the workforce to support mission demand; Encouraging team members to work together toward common goals and redirect resources as required to accomplish tasking across functional areas.
