Major duties

Serving as a Management Analyst GS-0343-11/12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a Management Analyst responsible for providing management analysis services to the staff, managers and supervisors in the assessment and evaluation of assigned programs. Those services support managers in aligning programs with organizational and Departmental Strategic Plans and mission-related goals and objectives. Typical duties include: Serving as project coordinator by assigning, tracking, providing assistance, and assuring timely completion of projects. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and integrates activities with other staff and related program functions. Preparing and presenting subject matter and research studies. Developing new methods and management processes. Conducting detailed analyses of best practices demonstrated by other government agencies and the private sector for possible implementation. Providing input/suggestions to management on methods, procedures, management surveys, management reports, control techniques, and organization structures. Assisting managers and supervisors in devising ways and means to acquire, analyze, and interpret data as it relates to workload projection and forecasting, mission support requirements, evaluations, and reporting. Developing recommendations for programming and budgetary adjustments to support unanticipated changes in program operations and/or funds that require the approval of officials at higher echelons. For additional assistance, please visit: USAJOBS Help Center - Update your resume now so it meets new resume requirements Specialized Experience for the GS-12 You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and/or measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of assigned programs and recommend methods for improvement; 2) Providing guidance to senior staff regarding complex administrative queries; 3) Coordinating the preparation, review, and consolidation of annual and multi-year budget requests into a consolidated budget request; 4) Collaborating with internal and external customers to administer current and proposed strategic and operational plans and programs. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. Specialized Experience for the GS-11 You qualify at the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in federal service, performing the following duties: 1) Composing correspondence for supervisor's signature in accordance with applicable formatting and grammar standards; 2) Determining budget availability and potential reallocation of funds in order to meet changing mission requirements; 3) Ensuring programmatic projects meet timelines for deliverables for timely completion.; OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary. Re-employed annuitants' annual salaries will be reduced by the amount of their retirement annuity and by further cost of living increases. FERS retirees receiving a FERS annuity supplement must also be aware that, like social security benefits, their FERS annuity supplement is subject to an earnings test and may be reduced if the salary earned is more than the social security exempt amount of earnings. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation for suitability/fitness as a condition of placement in this non-sensitive, moderate risk position. Physical Demands: The position's work is primarily sedentary in nature. Some travel will be required. Work Environment: The majority of work is performed in an office. Position may be required to drive a government-owned or government-leased vehicle to perform duties at locations on and off-site.
