Major duties

As a Supervisory Audio Visual Production Specialist, at the GS-14 level, you will perform the following duties: Directs an audio/visual production program that performs technical, administrative and professional work for a law enforcement, protective, or investigative agency. Provides complex technical or professional audio/visual production services directly affecting a large or complex organization. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Find creative or innovative ways to improve production or increase the quality of audio/visual products.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirement of: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. You must provide transcripts from an accredited institution. -OR- Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, to qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must also have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Developing and implementing policies and procedures for an audio/visual unit or program; Providing professional and technical guidance on audio/visual topics or projects; and Instructing, mentoring, and/or coaching staff members. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
