What you'd do

You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER in the Navy Fire & Emergency Services Department of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

Major duties

You will control and extinguish a fire during firefighting operations. You will inspect equipment (e.g., fire extinguisher, sprinkler systems, exits) to verify they are fully operational and meet regulatory requirements. You will decontaminate hazardous material response equipment and supplies (e.g., protective clothing, respiratory devices, chemical mitigation agents) for preventative maintenance. You will use personal protective equipment to comply with safety and health directives (e.g., OSHA).

What you need to qualify

GS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general work experience of military service that demonstrates your ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates your ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position.
