Major duties

You will serve as an Engineer in the Site and Ship Integration Branch (V34) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). You will serve as the Command and Control (C2) and Weapons Technical Lead for Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) Aircraft Carriers, directly supporting the Mission Systems Engineering Manager. You will provide support and expertise for Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), NATO SeaSparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS), RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), Phalanx Close In Weapon System (CIWS), and MK 38 Machine Gun System (MGS). You will be responsible for providing planning and execution oversight of the C2 portions for the RCOH availability for NIMITZ Class Carriers. You will document existing shipboard configuration, develop work scope packages, review system specific documentation for adherence to navy standards and ship installation practices. You will identify, refine, and document inter-system and shipboard interfaces, review Ship Installation Drawings, and provide engineering support to resolve waterfront issues. You will have primary deliverables including Liaison Action Report (eLAR/DLAR) resolution/review, work package development and scoping, and technical drawing review. You will have primary deliverables including Ship Installation drawing reviews, Design Exchange development, Compartment arrangement drawings developed in Autodesk Inventor, and interface focused Block Wiring Diagrams developed in Autodesk Autocad.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-03 (GS 09/11 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge/experience in one or more of the following CVN based Combat Systems (Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), NATO SeaSparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS), RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), Phalanx Close In Weapon System (CIWS), and MK 38 Machine Gun System (MGS). The Candidate is expected to have knowledge/experience in processes and organizations involved in the planning and execution of the integration of these systems into the physical shipboard environment.
