What you'd do

Major duties

You will research regulations, laws, and policies to provide basic answers for employee benefits. You will analyze and evaluate information for higher level Specialists for use in claims development and adjudication. You will communicate factual and procedural information clearly and orally to higher level Specialists. You will draft written responses to requests for information. You will provide technical assistance and solutions.

What you need to qualify

GS-05 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Sound judgment, integrity, and attention to detail; Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Ability to learn new systems, technology, policies, and procedures; Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to public service. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing administrative or human resources-related work, such as assisting with personnel actions, staffing activities, document preparation, records management, customer service, maintaining data, or performing similar support functions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
