The position is assigned to the Bureau of Human Resources (HR), Office of Accessibility and Accommodations (OAA), Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division (DRAD), U.S. Department of State whose mission is to recruit, develop, and empower the world's premier diplomatic team to advance U.S. foreign policy goals by (1) fostering flexibility to align talent to the mission; and maximize the talent advantage as an employer of choice. The incumbent will assist the Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division (DRAD) Chief with data analysis, updating standard operating procedures, conduct research on disability employment laws, regulations, policies, and best practices, including the Rehabilitation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance. The intern would provide support in the following areas: Reviewing and updating OAA documents to ensure consistency with recent bureau name changes Assisting the Public Affairs Specialist with drafting, editing, and distributing the monthly OAA newsletter Supporting the planning and execution of the annual OAA Open House, including logistics and coordination Developing PowerPoint presentations to support briefings, trainings, and outreach efforts Researching reasonable accommodation solutions and best practices to inform program decisions
What you need to qualify
GS-7: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate-level education OR Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree; AND be currently accepted to/enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate program.
