What you'd do

This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation and is not guaranteed a set number of hours but can be scheduled 0 - 40 hours per week. As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Major duties

Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities such as FAMCamp, RV storage lots, and boat slip registration; ORC building, picnic grounds and pavilion reservations and payment of fees. Responsible for cash register operations including cash collections, receipts, and cashier reports. Consolidates cashier reports from other sub- activities, prepares and makes bank deposits in a timely manner, controls change funds and petty cash expenditures. Prepares purchase orders, receiving reports, and statistical and financial data. Establishes and prepares carious reports for the Director's review, such as daily sales, profit and loss, and NAF General Ledgers. Reconciles subsidiary accounts monthly with NAF accounting office. Maintains all aspects of the advance payment records to include monitoring payments, sending expiration and late notices and ensuring proper records. Prepares payroll documents and files on all employees. Prepares outgoing correspondence, answers telephone and personal inquiries regarding reservations of the ORC facilities, rental equipment, and recreational areas. Responsible for operation of check-out equipment, including inventory, issuing, receiving, and checking for damage upon return. Recommends addition and deletion of equipment and resale merchandise based on customer usage. Monitors use and repairs or replacement of all office and cashier equipment to include service calls and estimate of replacement. Coordinates repairs or replace all computer equipment with IT. Takes inventory of all resale, office, and cashier supplies and orders as necessary. Areas of responsibility include the FAMCamp, RV storage lots, and boat slip registration; ORC building, picnic grounds and pavilion reservations and payment of fees. Cleans shop and office areas including floors, counters, office trash, storage rooms, and snack area. Performs periodic monitoring of the beach area. Performs other duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: All the following qualifications are highly desirable; experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of outdoor recreation activities such as but not limited to FamCamp, Dive Shop, storage lots, and boat slip registration, etc; experience in resale operations; ability to type and use computer; experience in receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, and other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing, and be able to get along with others. Physical effort requires walking, standing, use of hands and arms, and lifting of outdoor equipment. Must be able to satisfactory complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required. This is a testing designated position (TDP).
