This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), DEP COMDT FOR MISSION SUPPORT , ASSISTANT COMMANDANT FOR ACQUISITION (CG-9), DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITION PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CG-93), MAJOR SYSTEMS ACQ PROGRAM MANAGER (C2CI) (CG-9335) located in Washington, District of Columbia.

Major duties

You will serve as an Computer Engineer and be responsible for the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, configuration, installation, implementation and integration of networked systems used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video formats, supporting the Transport Services Branch - Deployed Connectivity Sustainment Section. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Configuring and maintaining network, switches and routers, that support Deployed Connectivity networks, troubleshoot problems ranging from common to complex, and evaluate and recommend upgrades and enhancements to the current Network Transport infrastructure. Analyzing design requirements & constraints to develop, engineer or recommend transport solutions; evaluate design trade-offs; documenting detailed system and security designs, and consider engineering life cycle & operational support. Developing system engineering documentation, transport connectivity configurations, testing and validation procedures and other required systems documentation. Providing guidelines for implementing developed systems to customers or installation teams Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.

What you need to qualify

Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: AND To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience may include the following: Reviewing and evaluating the technical aspects of all naval architect/structure Coordinating the development of design and production for multi-purpose projects for systems or mission-related conversion, maintenance, or construction or vessels. Providing expertise in engineering methods, applications, processes and procedures to maintain integrity of test and evaluation. Preparing, analyzing and/or presenting all aspects of acquisition program management. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
