What you'd do

About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). On an as-needed basis, employees occupying these positions provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. This is a temporary appointment not to exceed 1-year. At management's discretion, the appointment may be extended for up to a maximum of 3-years or converted to a term appointment for up to a maximum of 6-years.

Major duties

Prepare, review, and submit all personnel actions (promotions, recruitment, reassignment, position reviews, etc.) into the automated PPI system. Assist management with incentive awards programs rules and procedures, staying within established financial limits. Maintain, monitor, and advise management on training funds, ensuring funds are available and that requested training meets regulatory requirements. Incumbent is responsible for the Career Program 34. Maintain and updates a security roster, controls all office keys. Serve as the U.S. Government IMPAC purchase cardholder (VISA) for the purchase of general operations items (non-automation equipment) Develop Standing Operating Procedures for information Management Support Center IMCEN within areas of responsibilities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing administrative duties related to personnel, training, travel, and equipment; 2) coordinating special programs for training activities; and 3) performing a variety of clerical duties which are auxiliary to the response/recovery work. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
