The Fort Irwin Warrior Zone is a state-of-the-art, soldier-only recreation facility designed to provide entertainment, relaxation, and social connection for military personnel stationed at Fort Irwin, California.
Major duties
Serves as a Supervisory Recreation Specialist for the Warrior Zone involved with managing, planning, organizing, and conducting recreation programs to support eligible personnel for Warrior Zone activities. Such activities included, but not limited to, interactive gaming, food and beverage operations, movie theater, programming, billiards, and the BOSS Program. Performs a full range of supervisory duties, including recommending recruitment or reassignment actions, conducts performance appraisals and submits for approval by the manager. Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Trains new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Progressively responsible experience, including supervisory or managerial experience that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Must have exceptional communication and people skills in customer service and problem resolution and be able to supervise the work of others. A two (2) year degree (AA) with a major emphasis in recreation or closely related field may be substitute for some of the required experience.
