The Federal Housing Finance Agency, Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG) promotes the economy, efficiency, and integrity of FHFA's programs and operations by conducting audits, investigations, evaluations, and reviews and recommending courses of action designed to support FHFA's mission of ensuring a safe and sound mortgage finance system that provides reliable liquidity and funding for housing finance and community investment.

Major duties

***Important: This vacancy uses a two-phase application process. Both announcements must show Application Submitted for your application to be complete. Phase 2 will take one hour, at a minimum, to complete.*** The position is in the Office of Audits. As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Direct subordinates in ensuring highly technical and complex audits of IT systems and information systems security programs and practices are performed in conformance with applicable professional standards and FHFA OIG policy. In conjunction with the Deputy Inspector General for Audits, Assistant Inspector General for Audits, other Audit Directors, and Audit Managers, develop and evaluate the overall audit approach and the annual plan for the next fiscal year. Direct and oversee work performed by subordinates and contractors through the IT Specialist/Audit Managers and CORs.

What you need to qualify

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the EL-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the EL-14 grade level in the Federal service. EL-15 is equivalent to a GS-15. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience leading information technology, cybersecurity, or information security audits to determine whether systems, security controls, or information security programs were working properly and in compliance with applicable standards and requirements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) or equivalent auditing standards. Experience contributing to IT audit plans, including audit objectives, scope, testing approach, milestones, or deliverables. In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must meet proficiency levels in each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Technical Competence. A Work Sample/narrative assessment will be used to determine whether you meet the required competency proficiency levels.
