This vacancy is for a GS - 0080 - 11, Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG AIR STATION ATLANTIC CITY in EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, New Jersey.
Major duties
You will serve as a Security Specialist and be responsible for implementing physical, personnel, information and classified materials security programs in accordance with applicable Commandant Instructions, Air Station Commanding Officer orders, and District Five Security Manager direction. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Provides oversight to ensure CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, and safeguarded. Conducts regular security survey inspections to ascertain organizational adequacy and conformance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; analyze results and implement changes as required. Plans, reports and surveys for compliance with existing policies and procedures. Maintains security clearances, classified, sensitive, and unclassified information access program for 200+ members. Performs a variety of administrative duties ensuring incoming and outgoing actions and internal projects are completed in a timely manner. What you need to qualify
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Leading customer experience projects that involve multidisciplinary teams and multiple research methods (e.g., qualitative and quantitative). Ability to apply policy direction to specific operating requirements and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various degrees or levels of security controls. OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or related applicable assessment) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.
