What you'd do

As a National Bank Examiner (Analyst to Assistant Deputy Comptroller), you will use advanced knowledge, judgment, and decision-making skills to advise and assist the Assistant Deputy Comptroller (ADC) in planning, organizing, and implementing functions of the field office. This position is located in Community Banks.

Major duties

As a National Bank Examiner (Analyst to Assistant Deputy Comptroller), you will: Review supervisory strategies for individual banks/thrifts assigned to the ADC. Review Reports of Examination to ensure proper risk categories are assigned, analyze supervision findings for banks/thrifts assigned to the ADC, identify areas of concern, determine methods of resolution, and recommend appropriate action and/or follow-up. Provide technical assistance and guidance to bank/thrift management, examining personnel, district counsel, outside parties, and district and Washington office personnel. Assist the ADC develop and monitor the performance of the annual plan and budget related to financial and human resources for the ADC's portfolio. Identify and resolve problems or issues that may cross functional or disciplinary boundaries, both within and outside of the District unit, and that impact the accomplishment of both tactical and strategic agency objectives. Supervise, manage, review and evaluate the work of assigned office support personnel. May assign work for field office personnel. Coordinate sharing of resources with other analysts assisting an ADC. Assist ADC and oversee the day-to-day operations of the field office and may fill-in for the ADC during short absences. Attend meetings with Boards of Directors and bank/thrift management, representing the ADC, and serve as liaison with representatives of the bank/thrift industry and community groups. Prepare supervisory work products and correspondence for ADC's signature.

What you need to qualify

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-IV band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Analyzing data and formulating conclusions on the services, products, and practices of financial institutions to determine their condition, risk profile, and compliance with banking laws and regulations. AND Selective factor: You must also possess a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting that you are authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks and federal savings associations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
