SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST
What you'd do
About the Position: This position supports the mission of J-8 Financial Operations Directorate, Direct Care Financial Management Division and is located in JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Leave accrual negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to the Federal service.
Major duties
Review and evaluate programs to implement automated data processing applications to ensure financial regulatory compliance. Attend meetings and have discussions with operating officials and management to determine requirements and provide solutions which represent official policy to improve upon effectiveness, efficiencies and processes. Serve as a liaison for a widely dispersed customer base including Military Treatment Facilities, Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Department of the Army, U.S. Army Medical Command, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. Set priorities and establishes schedules for work completion and assign work based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees. Develop performance standards and evaluates overall performance of employees/leaders.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Analyzing financial statements and reports, implementing accounting systems (e.g., GFEBS), interpreting regulations and guidance, and assigning employee workload. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
