What you'd do

You will serve as a NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Major duties

Your will inspect completed installation of test equipment to assure the equipment will safely perform the intended function. You will provide engineering advice and assistance to ships force personnel during reactor plant overhauls and testing. You will perform functions of a Shift Test Supervisor to provide waterfront direction for the Shift Test Engineer on the shift assigned. You will perform system lineup checks in conjunction with the ships force and report all major problems to higher graded engineer. You will prepare technical written instructions for assembly and installation of equipment.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: EXPERIENCE AS AN STS, AND CURRENLTY QUALIFIED STE EXPERIENCE IN WORK CONTROLS, RETEST, AND SYSTEM TESTING EXPERIENCE IN RESLOVING WATERFRONT ISSUES AND EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH SF AND SY TECH CODES/SHOPS Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-PROF and https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdf Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
