What you'd do

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Miami Field Division. This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Business Operations Program (BOP) within the respective DEA Field Division. The BOP consists of functions/matters related to Administration, Human Resources, Financial Resources, Procurement, Property, Fleet and Inventory, Security, and Task Force Management.

Major duties

As a your typical work assignments may include: Providing the delegated authority, leadership, management and strategic vision necessary to ensure that the division has the proper agency policies, procedures, and systems in place. Providing administrative and financial support to complete the agency's mission. Managing all business operations program activities, may include general services functions or financial and procurement functions. Facilitating the development of short and long-range business operations program plans to support the agency goals and objectives. Coordinating with internal and external organizations and headquarters.

Applicants applying for the GS-15 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-14 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the operations programs related to policies, procedures, and systems supporting administrative and financial organization's objectives; 2) Providing administrative and financial support to complete the agency's mission 3) Managing business operations program activities, may include general services functions or financial and procurement functions 4) Facilitating the development of short and long-range business operations program plans to support the agency goals and objectives 5) Coordinating with internal and external organizations and headquarters Additional information on the position qualification requirements are located in the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Qualifications Standards Handbook. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
