About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Major duties
Consult with management to develop controls and procedures for compliance with all local and higher headquarters regulatory requirements. Analyze information to conduct management studies to improve organization efficiency, cost effectiveness, time and motion, organization structure, and human capital management. Provide administrative, managerial consultation and advisory to key leadership, staff and faculty. Monitor and analyze workload statistics. Serve as coach or facilitator in coordinating team initiatives and activities.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of experience providing administrative or clinical management in a health care environment; analyzing health care information to evaluate and/or recommend improvements for the effectiveness or efficiency of health care services; and providing management advice on matters pertaining to access and/or quality of care in a medical treatment facility. This experience is equivalent to work performed at the GS-09 level in the federal service. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
