Office of Intelligence Operations, International Affairs Division in Washington, DC The Deputy Chief will serves as an advisor to the Assistant Director, Deputy Director and Division Chief on broad issues impacting the Directorate and its relationship with other law enforcement agencies and the regulated industries.

Major duties

The major duties of the Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Deputy Division Chief) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Exercises full supervisory responsibility and authority over personnel. Plan, direct, coordinate and oversee studies and surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the Operations programs and ensure efficiency and economy of operations. Furnish technical information and advice to Assistant Director, Deputy Assistant Director and /or the Division Chief in order to provide direction and uniformity to the various programs and projects. Represent the Bureau in interagency meetings, conferences and ad hoc committees on issues and program initiatives with policy official at the Department of Justice.

To qualify for this position Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Deputy Division Chief)at the GS-15 grade level, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience must include all of: Providing leadership and supervision to a team; AND Analyzing and evaluating operations programs and ensuring efficiency of the organizational operations (etc. budget, strategic, staffing and operation plans); AND Providing recommendations to management on Division issues, projects, policy and program initiatives that's affecting organizational operations.
