What you'd do

You will serve as a Utilities and Energy Management Branch Head at Public Works Department of NAVSUBASE KINGSBAY.

Major duties

You will contribute to a systems strategic planning process by providing input on the feasibility of organizational goals. You will employ analytical decision-making tools within a systematic framework to make effective evidence-based decisions. You will conduct studies to evaluate the efficiency of a facilities energy or facilities infrastructure program. You will identify developmental and training needs of employees by arranging for needed training and development. You will maintain balanced workloads by shifting work assignments, subordinate workers, or other resources to achieve the most effective work operations. You will lead and mentor personnel in their definition and achievement of their career development plans. You will resolve issues related to workload and resource management to ensure resources are distributed equitably to meet deadline dates and workload needs.

What you need to qualify

This position has a Selective Placement Factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The Selective Placement Factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Please select one response that best describes how you meet the Selective Placement Factor (SPF) for a GS-0801-13, SUPERVISOR GENERAL ENGINEER. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license your application package. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Setting priorities for all major maintenance projects, repairs, modifications, and improvements to utility systems; 2) Overseeing the development of budgets, schedules, projects, and programs; 3) Reviewing cost estimates and packages prepared by engineering staff for technical adequacy; 4) Communicating technical requirements to contractors and/or in-house workforce; 5) Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, consideration of difficulty and requirements of the assignments and capabilities of the employee; 6) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.
