Major duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Cape Canaveral SFS, Florida is searching for an Acquisition Program Manager to support the 1 SLS (NH-1101-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent). Description: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Program manager within the 1st Space Launch Squadron. The squadron supports sustainment, investment, procurement and RTD&E activities and projects for launch test range Systems. Leads multi-functional teams of government and contractor personnel in executing all aspects of project responsible for developing, establishing, implementing, and controlling contractual, financial, and technical aspects of projects/programs through designated phases of the acquisition cycle. Ideal Candidate: Possess program management and acquisition experience. Possess a background in leading acquisition efforts, managing contracts, and Contracting Officer Representative experience is highly desired. Knowledge of the DoW acquisition process and Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Practitioner Certification is also highly desired. Knowledge, Skill & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support. 2. Knowledge of required safety regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and avariety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management andcontractors. 4. Ability to plan, organize, analyze problems, translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, evaluate options, conduct research, summarize results, make appropriate recommendations, and manage critical aspects of service contract requirements as related to the assigned functional area and meet deadlines.
