About the Position : This position is located at Dunham Army Health Clinic, providing support to Patient Administration Division to ensure high-quality patient care and facility operations. Work Hours : 0730-1630 Monday though Friday Working Environment: Individual office This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Major duties
Provide performance feedback to medical records coders and providers. Supervise subordinate Medical Record Technicians and military personnel. Assign work to subordinates and establish priorities. Serve as subject matter expert for coding and documentation issues. Serve as approving authority of annual and sick leave requests. Responsible for the maintenance and accountability of medical records. Conduct facility training and education on coding and documentation issues.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) managing outpatient & inpatient medical records programs, 2.) leading other medical records technicians, including assigning and distributing workload, 3.) performing medical records audits for accuracy, and 4.) providing education and training on medical record documentation and coding guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-11)
