Major duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Gulf of America Region, Office of Policy & Analysis, in Jefferson, LA.. At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Leads program evaluations and internal control reviews to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of program activities to measure achievement of stated goals. 2. Leads coordination with program offices to develop tailored quality assurance standards and protocols, and measure activities against those standards to determine the adequacy of processes to achieve stated goals and the adherence to those processes. 3. Leads interviews to gather risk and risk treatment information at the programmatic, entity, and enterprise levels. 4. Analyzes actions taken as the result of external and internal evaluations and review, including quality assurance measurement, to determine if those actions have been fully and successfully implemented. 5. Communicates findings and trends from evaluation and reviews in both written and oral form to the Evaluation Branch Supervisor and OPAA Deputy Assistant Director. 6. Supports administration of tracking systems and electronic data repositories relevant to audits, internal control reviews, and program evaluation, ensuring information is accurate and current. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-12: Step 1 $89,508 - Step 10 $116,362 per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Driving initiatives related to researching, gathering, organizing, and tracking of risk/audit/evaluation information AND 2. Leading the review of detailed data and performance of analytical reviews of quantitative data to identify trends and weaknesses; AND 3. Advising leadership both orally and in writing Must meet all.
