What you'd do

Serves as a Program Assistant and is responsible for providing computer systems, administrative, security, and budget support for all WHAO personnel and inspectors working in field processing facilities.

Major duties

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Uses a personal computer with a variety of software packages to develop forms, reports and spreadsheets and/or produce lists, reports and charts in final form. Participates in the development and maintenance of databases, revision and/or updates of existing programs, and the troubleshooting of computer systems and communications services. Responsible for the operation of a light activation credentialing center to assist Division and local Agency personnel with activation and updating of security credentials. Provides support and training of personnel using computer systems and programs. Maintains inventories of computers and computer-related items as well as computer-generated forms, catalogs, and lists.

What you need to qualify

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. FOR THE GS-06 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Use common/standard office suite software to prepare correspondence, meeting notes, reports, calendars, presentations, and spreadsheets. Assist with administrative tasks related to Time and attendance, travel, billing and/or collections. Provide advice and assistance to users on computer-related issues. Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
