SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
As Director of the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) Division at NAVSUP WSS in Mechanicsburg, PA, you will lead a multi-disciplined team executing a no-fail mandate for the Trident Weapons System. Operating within the critical Naval Nuclear Deterrence Mission (NNDM), this role demands a seasoned logistician and decisive leader. You must possess proven mastery in program, inventory, technical, and configuration management, stock positioning expertise and defense contracting.
Major duties
You will ensure acquisition strategies effectively support key program obligations, including the Polaris Sales Agreement (PSA) and the US/UK Common Missile Compartment (CMC) program for the Columbia and Dreadnought platforms. You will oversee the execution of US/UK logistics and contracting obligations under the PSA framework. You will direct coordination with SSP, the UK Ministry of Defense, and relevant stakeholders to resolve issues, ensure parity of support across both fleets, and sustain uninterrupted material readiness for the UK strategic submarine fleet. You will plan and execute reimbursable funding streams within Navy ERP, ensuring full auditability and compliance with applicable financial, acquisition, and SSP-NAVSUP MOU requirements.
What you need to qualify
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Directing the integration of near-term operational fleet support requirements with long- range strategic planning initiatives to modernize Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) logistics processes in alignment with Strategic Systems Program and NAVSUP WSS enterprise objectives; 2) Leading a multi-disciplinary organization of civilian and contractor personnel operating in a no-fail environment; 3) Providing senior-level fiscal oversight and program management for SWS wholesale sustainment, spanning multiple appropriations and complex funding mechanisms, including the Polaris Sales Agreement (PSA); 4) Applying enterprise-level analytical capabilities to validate fleet readiness, ensuring configuration accuracy, and sustain allowance integrity across both US and UK strategic submarine platforms; 5) Directing a dedicated contracting function, providing programmatic guidance throughout acquisition planning and source selection.
