What you'd do

Major duties
Verifies membership cards or daily greens fee tickets and signs in all golfers prior to play. Ensures that play begins on time on the correct date based on starting times and dates list provided by the Golf/Pro Manager or his assistant. Uses judgment in the arrangement of players into threesomes and foursomes to fill open tee times. Patrols the golf course for the purpose of ensuring the proper flow of play. Reports any problems to the Golf Pro/Manager. Operates golf carts by moving carts to and from clubhouse to storage area. Keeps golf cars clean on a daily basis and periodically waters batteries or gasses golf carts. Retrieves broken carts from the golf course. Uses golf picker to collect driving range balls from the range. Cleans range balls and re-stocks the ball machine. Polices areas around the golf pro shop, empties trash containers, removes boxes from pro shop stock room to dumpster. Cleans and secures rental clubs. Assists in getting golf outings set up or cleaned up upon completion of the event. Puts water out on the course and empties trash containers on the course. May assist Food & Hospitality with setting up food or drinks in the pavilion. Relays instructions from supervisor. Gets work started. Sets work pace. Demonstrates work methods, and provides work-related guidance. Ensures worksite materials and tools are available to complete work. Reports workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the immediate supervisor. Checks with supervisor on problems. Checks on work and meets productivity goals. Ensures employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules. Conducts on-the-job training and instructions. Performs supervisory duties in an emergency, or short-term and nonrecurring basis.
What you need to qualify
Minimum one year experience in a recreation environment. Ability to lead employees in performance of their duties. Knowledge of the sport of golf, golf rules, terms and etiquette preferred. Ability to operate a cash register. Lifts and carries objects up to 30 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the qualifications above.
